Parisian Adventures | Paris Diaries| Day 1

Good Morning World!

The beautiful and romantic city of Paris has always been somewhere I longed to visit; the French architecture, freshly bakes pastries and world famous landmarks are something I couldn’t shy away from. After a year together, my boyfriend and I thought it would be fitting to spend our first ever holiday together in the most romantic city in the world.

We travelled there via the Eurostar from London to Paris on the Monday afternoon around 2 o clock, and we arrived into Paris around half 5 local time, which meant that our ‘first’ day in Paris consisted of us getting lost on the metro, settling into our hotel and eating out at a local restaurant.

Our first official day in this gorgeous city was a dream come true, and because it was our first day how could we not visit the most iconic monument in France straight off the back. Approaching this historic gem was exhilarating and I never expected for it to be as big as it was, although it being a tenth of the size of the original model, and I was blown away by the unique nature of the architecture.

Despite the abundant number of people who decided to arrive on the same day and same time of us, we managed to get into and up the Eiffel Tower in just under 45 minutes, including a security check and buying tickets. However, if anything is  worth waiting in an queue for 45 minutes its the Eiffel Tower. My boyfriend and I bought tickets to see all the floors on the tower, even one to the very top floor, which I’ll admit gave me a little bit of vertigo but was so worth it for the experience.

After spending pretty much our whole day mooching around the Eiffel Tower and its gardens, I wanted to check out another world famous destination, which actually turned out to be one of my very favourite views from the whole city. The Arc de Triomphe! Again I was amazed at the size of the structure, half expecting it to be just bigger than your standard arc you would find in Britain, but gosh I was wrong. The whole building was incredible, not only is it just 280 steps to climb to the top (yes I actually counted them) but it has a small museum inside and a little gift shop of trinkets and bigger trinkets. The best part of all being able to see the Eiffel Tower, towering over the vast city; it was a sight to envision and never one to forget.

The whole day was filled with delights and wonderful adventures. I went to sleep wanting more and dreaming love stories in little Paris.
